Dr. Widder considers each of his patients as unique individuals, which is why he values their safety and well-being above all else. Dr. Widder strives to ensure:
Dr. Widder frequently says, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This statement encapsulates Dr. Widder’s philosophy of making patient safety priority number one. While some other surgeons may cut corners or perform multiple procedures simultaneously, Dr. Widder only focuses on conducting one operation at a time. This allows for the very best results with a significantly lower chance of revision surgeries. However, he will combine surgeries if patient desires or if he determines it will be safe for the patient.
Dr. Widder has the unique ability to visualize an outcome and then actually deliver these results to his patients. His natural aesthetic eye, combined with years of experience and high-level training, allows Dr. Widder to give his patients remarkable results time and again.

Q & A with Dr. Shlomo Widder
We strive to help patients fulfill their desired looks, which helps their self-esteem, confidence, and sense of femininity or masculinity.
It gives me pleasure to make people happy through my surgical and artistic skills.
I always loved to know how our body functions or malfunctions and had a desire to help people. As far as aesthetics, it is a combination of art and science, which enables me to please people by serving them well.
I was born at the center of Israel by the Mediterranean Sea beaches, and I spent my youth crisscrossing the country North to South and East to West.
My 12 years of pre-med education were spent in the town of Herzelia by the Mediterranean sea. After completing 3 years in the Israeli army and working with an Israeli disabled soldier, I spent 3 years at the University of Bologna in Italy, completing my pre-med credits. This allowed me to enter the medical school of the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) followed by one year of Internship and 3 years of General Surgery at the University of Tel Aviv affiliated hospitals.
I arrived in the US in 1981 and spent 3 years in general surgery. In 1985, I was accepted at the department of plastic surgery at Case Western Reserve University hospital for 2 years of training. I moved to practice general plastic surgery at Fairfax County in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County in Maryland in 1987. In 1989, I passed my Plastic Surgery Board exam, and in 1990 I built the AAAASF accredited Widder Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Center at Tyson’s Corner, Vienna, Virginia. My plastic surgery practice is dedicated solely to cosmetic surgery.
The whole gamut of face and body cosmetic surgery.
Plastic surgery is the perfect integration of medicine, surgical skills, aesthetic art, and bringing happiness and confidence to people’s lives.
Fulfill my artistic and surgical skills by bringing meaningful improvement in people’s lives while maintaining my personal and professional independence.
Building an excellent reputation of honesty, surgical skills, and a relentless drive to bring happiness to my patients through my accredited surgery center allowed me to deliver the best in a safe manner.
I take care of my wife, Lyn, and my German Shepherd, Bear. I am also an avid tennis player in my club and often travel to Florida.
After rotation in the plastic surgery department in Israel, it was clear to me that the only medical field that I wanted to practice was plastic surgery. That was the reason that brought me to the US because I knew that the US is such a big country with vast opportunities for hard-working and skilled surgeons, which indeed proved to be true in my case.
Being a foreigner put me at a disadvantage with the American-born doctors in two very competitive fields. But hard work made up for that disadvantage and paid off.
Honest talent prevails!
Dr. Guyuron, the chief of plastic surgery at Case Western Reserve University Hospital, with his surgical skills and strife to perfection, always stood in front of me as I was building my plastic surgery practice.
The passion that I feel toward my practice brought me immense happiness and fulfillment. That is why I do not plan to retire as long as I am physically and mentally able to perform my surgery to the delight of my patients.
My patients like my honesty, surgical skills, drive to perfection, attention to detail, and that I’m willing to spend the time to provide them with information about why and how I do what I do. Finally, I am always available for them, regardless of the time of the day, by providing them with my cell phone number and seeing them in my office when they have concerns about surgery.
